Getting Warmer is designed with privacy in mind. This policy explains what data the app uses and how.
What Data We Collect
None. Getting Warmer does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics.
Location
Getting Warmer uses your device's GPS to measure your distance from puzzle targets. Your location is used only on your device, in real time, while you are actively using the app. It is never recorded, transmitted, or shared with anyone — including us.
Location access is required for the core functionality of the app. You can revoke location permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Getting Warmer, though this will prevent the app from measuring distances.
Puzzle Data
Puzzles you create — including pin locations and secret messages — are stored only on your device. When you share a puzzle via QR code, the puzzle data is encoded directly in the QR image. It is never uploaded to or routed through any server.
Third-Party Services
Getting Warmer uses Apple's MapKit framework to display maps. Apple's own privacy policy applies to map tile requests made by your device. We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Children
Getting Warmer does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected at all, the app is safe for all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
